2.English Carnival

On 17 July, 2009, 25 students went to Kolej Mara Seremban as the representatives of Kolej Professional Mara Indera Mahkota in one of MARA’s programs - the English Carnival accompanied by four lecturers. In this national event, nine colleges were invited to take part as well as compete in the activities that were arranged.
In this carnival, students were gathered and divided into groups in order that all students were able to socialize with other students from different colleges.  A lot of activities were held such as Cheer Competition, Indoor Games and also the Language Race.  These games taught the students cooperation and teamwork besides improving their  English in a fun way.
The best event at this carnival was the “P Ramlee Night” that was held on Saturday night. All colleges had sent their representatives to act and sing songs inspired by P Ramlee’s movies. “Labu Labi” and “Anakku Sazali” were chosen by Mr Humam for our college performance. Our performance was quite hilarious compared to other colleges. Unfortunately, we did not win the first prize our P Ramlee impersonation won second place in the “P Ramlee Look Alike Competition”.
The major and most important event of this carnival was the “Cultural Booth”. Our college was given the Roman/ Greek theme.  In the booth, people played their role as Caesar, gladiators, soldiers, slaves and peasants.  The students had a lot of fun playing the carnival games and learnt a lot too from the information presented through LCDs. The College’s Caesar ( Aminurraasyeed Idiris) won the Best Dressed Male in the competition, making it the second achievement at the carnival.
On Sunday evening the students we’re back at the college with smiles on their faces and happy memories and experiences in their hearts.
