Department Information

English Department was first published on January 2001. Since it was published there was no founder that was recorded. There were only a group of lecturers who contributed in this English Department. They consisted of Miss Zarina bt Ahmad, Mr Azwin Ariff, Miss Nor Yazi, Madam Shereen and Miss Amelia.
As time passed over the months, here came another two lecturers which were Madam Nor Aidah and Madam Dahlia in July 2001. Later on, Madam Shereen was appointed as the Head of English Department around 2002 to 2007 before Madam Zarina Ahmad took place as the Head of English Department from 2007 to 2010.

The first program that was conducted by those lecturers was PIP which was only 4 groups on January 2001. Another program was DIA and PIP around July 2001. Later on, FHND and HND also were conducted among those lecturers. However, during December 2002 our DEC program was introduced in our college. The last program offered in this college was DCN.

After that, English Department had added another 5 lecturers in order to improve the learning quality. DEC program was such a demand among students nowadays. The reason why DEC program was not introduced in other KPM colleges because they might require lots of lecturers. Hence, they need at least 20 lecturers to open DEC program. Besides, the costs for opening this program also high. This is due to the high salary among the English lecturers.

Currently, our English Department has around 29 lecturers whereby they consisted of 6 lecturers who hold MASTERS, 9 lecturers who hold TESL and 14 lecturers who hold non-TESL. Our male lecturers only have 5 lecturers where the rest are female lecturers.
